Vavagaa (literally meaning trend) to originate and disseminate content emanating from day-to-day experiences of women (and men) on issues related to gender equality. The aim is to engage average women and men in defining their own notion gender equality based on their everyday life experience relation informed by tradition and modernity aspirations for transformation with which to navigate and negotiate individual and collective norms fostering dignity of both genders to propel them through the 21st century.

Therefore, Vavagaa packages feminist knowledge and information with freshness and diversity of content and mobilizes large audiences, audience feedback, and generating interest and participation among diverse groups of women’s rights activists at national and grassroots levels to become news producers and users. 

The show first started just as an online talk show, then expanded to add a Vavagaa Kiswahili zoom series that runs biweekly, Clubhouse every saturdays , we are starting Vavagaa Mtaani, and Vavagaa zoom English for English-speaking audiences in the region and beyond. Vavagaa among other interventions within the multimedia Feminist Archive (Kastoria Kavazi) aims at generating content that addresses and moderates public discourse around the root cause of gender inequality by using everyday experiences, voices, and images. 

The show/space encourages and welcomes feminist, non-feminist, anti-feminist, religious leaders, and all groups, and the purpose is to ensure we have a broad range of perspectives on gender equality issues and movement building. Also to translate
